Like most ordinary working class people, I am tired of reading about how much money the Gas and Electricity Giants in the UK are making.  Here we are, struggling through a recession, scrimping and scraping by only to find out we're lining the pockets of fat cats who couldn't give a damn about us.

2008 saw winter deaths raise by a third on the previous year's figures.  Why?  It's simple - The sad reality is that people froze to death in their own homes, too afraid to put on the heating due to ever rising fuel costs.  How sad a reality is that?

I remember thinking at the time that it would be great if I could get 1 million households to stand up with me and DEMAND a better deal but ended up forgetting about it and just accepting the price hikes, the bragging of massive bonuses and the ridiculous comments made by Mr Owen-Lloyd.  That was until last week when I read another ridiculous story that made my blood boil and inspired me to jump into action.  POWER giants Scottish & Southern Energy caused fury yesterday when they warned of price hikes as their profits soared by more than a third.  The firm revealed a 36 per cent increase to £410.5million in the past six months.  (Are they Joking!!!)  Source: The Daily Record click to read the original article

Once I have 1 million pledges I will meet with all of the UK Gas and Electricity companies and negotiate a deal for our supporters.

I will return from each meeting and send you an email letting you know what was said and what they have offered us.

You will then visit the site and vote either in agreement with or against the offer they have put forward, companies will be asked to reconsider their offer if there is a majority in disagreement with the offer. (We'll vote for 7 days from the date of the offer and will send out reminders to vote by email)

Offers that have a majority of accepting votes will be put forward to the final vote and you will then vote to decide what company wins the tender for our business.

Transparency

We will receive a small commission on each sale and this will come from the company's marketing budget, this is money already set aside by them to win new business and retain existing business and will not stop us from achieving great prices.  The money received will help us to pay for a call centre and all the staff we'll need to do the actual lengthy and time consuming administration work, we'll need to train staff to deal with the actual administration and this campaign simply wouldn't be possible without being monetised in some way.  I hope you understand and do realise that the service is 100% free to you, it's only the fat cat that'll squeal when he sees our bill!
